Middle School Physical Education
This course is designed to utilize a variety of physical activities which reflect an emphasis on fitness and lifetime sports. This emphasis provides students with an understanding of how physical education benefits them and helps to develop within students an appreciation and desire to reach their own peak of physical fitness. An additional emphasis is placed on understanding the importance and health benefits of participating in lifetime sports and activities.
Our program provides a laboratory of physical experiences related to learning about lifetime sports and recreational activities while developing a fitness level and sports skills necessary for effective participation. Physical education also provides a physical as well as emotional release from the pressures and tensions of daily life.
Other topics addressed in physical education classes are:
-
Sportsmanship,
-
Teamwork and cooperation with peers,
-
Stretching and flexibility,
-
Safety,
