Students will have fun learning more about drawing techniques, perspective drawing, watercolor, Japanese and monotype printmaking, and subtractive sculpture. Various artists, historical/cultural art and media will be explored.

Students will have fun learning more about drawing techniques, proportions, acrylic painting, relief printmaking, and additive sculpture. Various artists, historical/cultural art, and media will be explored.
Advanced Adventures in Art
This course is designed for 8th grade students who are very excited about art! It is a year long class which enables the student to deepen their knowledge and skills in all areas. We will explore artists, media and advanced techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculptural pieces. Teacher signature is required.
Ceramics
We have lots of fun creating functional and sculptural clay pieces in this class! Students will learn about different artists and their work, and the three different methods for hand building. Students will make sculptures, a popular whistle, learn all about finishes and types of clay and glazes.
Computer Graphics
Students will use the principles and elements of design to create original artwork on the computer. Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator will be used, and basic skills will be taught for each program. Students will create projects displaying their skills, which include photo collages, personal logos, business cards, posters and T-shirt designs. When completed, students may also submit their projects to the district Technology Fair.
