Stnd: Work on TKAM Maps. TKAM should be finished by today. Test next Monday. Maps due Tuesday.

Stnd: Begin working on conflict map. Discuss: man v. man, man v. nature. man v. fate, man v. society, man v. self. Use all characters. Work with a partner...talk about it, don't split the work, this is the best way to study for the test. Due Friday.

Stnd: Work on Conflict Map (use your list of character from your Maycomb Map assignment sheet-see the link for the second six weeks for another copy), work on TKAM Maycomb Map.
TAG: Work on short stories/character Development:
•Write a ‘script’ for a news and entertainment channel. Tell the world about your character. Write as if your main character is a real person. Consider them famous….if you want to write about your antagonist you can do that too. Be over the top. The public wants to know! Entertain us. We discussed many other ways to view and complete this assignment...put your own twist on it

TAG: Use your literary terms (#1 and #2) to analyze and annotate "Shame". Think about techniques (from all of the short stories) that you can use in your own story. Work on personal stories. First Round of "official editing" is due Monday. This draft is 25% of your final exam. Editing Rubric (this is a different grade).

Stnd: Two stories will go home for you to annotate. Be sure to write a theme for each. We will discuss Monday, essay Tuesday (part of your final exam).
TAG: Work on your short stories. Don't forget to use you journals to look at the methods other authors use to integrate description, dialogue, thoughts, emotions, etc.

Final Exam Review
Stnd: Annotated short stories due today. We will discuss theme, and go over how to write a detailed paragraph. Essay will be in class tomorrow. You may use the stories and any notes you take on them in class.
TAG: Short Story Due. We will do technical editing in January. Begin thinking of a Holocaust-related book you would like to read in addition to Night. I will have a list for you to choose from, but am willing to take suggestions!
