ROUGH DRAFT DUE NEXT TUESDAY

Monday:   Discuss Leads and Conclusions.  Pull examples from books. My Examples.  Brainstorm what makes a good lead and good conclusion. 

Your notes are below.  You can check out what your other classmates had to say.  Each class has a slightly different list!

            HOMEWORK:  Write a lead and conlusion for your short story in your flip book.  Write for 20-30 min.

Tuesday:   Most of us will be on a field trip--work on your story, or brainteasers.  Choice day.

              HOMEWORK:  Write for 20-30 min.

Wednesday:  Status of the class.  Where are you?  What do you need help with?   Finish up discussion on leads and conclusions.  Share our own in groups, get feedback. 

                        Begin discussing theme: We made a chart to learn how to create theme based on TKAM and WDC.  You listed topics, and then determined what the book tells us about these topics (not events, but lessons and statements).  Click here for the example.  You will then take TWO more topics from this list and create THREE themes FOR EACH of the TWO topics you picked.  Remember, these themes must be related to the books. 

               HOMEWORK:  See above.  Write for 20-30 min.

Thursday:   Status of the class.  Share flip books and ideas.  Create themes for your short story.

                  HOMEWORK:  Write for 20-30 min.

Friday:  Status of the class.  Read or write.

                  HOMEWORK:  Work on rough draft.  Remember it's DUE TUESDAY
