Announcements: 
*We spent the last few weeks doing "presearch", and then research on the Holocaust.
*They gathered pictures from magazines to create a visual/emotional image and connection to their information.

WEEK OF MARCH 3rd
M-Prepare for a discussion on NIGHT. Created questions.
T-Begin small group discssions. TAG-NING homework due tonight at 12:00. Chapter 5 due Monday.
W-Service projects. Standard-NING homework due tonight at 12:00.
TR-TAG-Discussion persuasive essays. Standard-Finish Night discussion.
F-Free Reading
BOOK TRAILERS ARE DUE THIS COMING WEDNESDAY.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 15th
M-2/15-M-2/15-Professional Development..I created the NING that we will use for online discusisons for NIGHT, the Holocaust, Book Trailers, and persuasion. We will hopefully use it for archetypes, propaganda, and Shakespeare as well! I'm really excited about it. I also created a search engine. Use it for your Holocaust questions, and NIGHT vocabulary.
T-2/16-Discussed the NING. Join it. You will need to post your group members for the trailer by Thursday night at 12:00 and your proposal for your trailer by 12:00 on Friday night. It will need to be approved...I will approve them as quickly as I can. Just submit it by 12:00, even if I approve it later, you will still be on time.
W-2/17-Discuss the NING and book trailers again. Read chapter 3 in NIGHT.
TR-2/18-NIGHT chapter 3. After annotating your chapter, you will be writing questions. Read and think like a discussion leader. We will use these questions!
F-2/19-Free Reading

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 21st
M-2/21-
All but second period (they will do it Wednesday, and read NIGHT today) will have Ms. Woods come talk to them about technology for their book trailers.
T-2/22-NIGHT
W-2/23-Work in groups on your book trailers. The Script is due tomorrow on the NING by midnight. 
TR-2/24-
Work in groups on Trailers. Script due.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 8th
M-2/8
Free Reading and Advisement Day. Thank you letters to Mr. Kessler are due today.

T-2/9We will finish reading Chapter One of Night. Discuss. I will also be checking for your respsonses for the preface/foreward and the first part of Chapter One. Tomorrow we will be using the Fact/Question/Response Sheets.

W-2/10

Hand out guidelines for the Book Trailer project. I need to know your book and group by Friday. Continue reading/discussing Night. Discuss the museum in more depth.

TR-2/11

Discuss persuasive writing. Talk about emotional arguments: RANT (due tomorrow).

F-2/12

Free Reading.

M-1/25

Check for Night. Put name on it. etc. Watch the interview of Elie Weisel as a basic introduction to the memoir. Tomorrow we will finish the interview and begin reading Night.

T-1/26

Finish interview. Number the chapters. Begin reading Night. Vocab due tomorrow. Use the links above in "resources".

Collect Persuasive Essay Starter Form.

W-1/27

We may read more of Night. Depending on what was accomplished yesterday. Otherwise we will discuss the Persuasive Essay Starter Form.  

TR-1/28

Create Rubric for Book Trailer Project. Discuss emotional arguments. Write a rant. Due tomorrow.
